Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It can lead to symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, and intrusive thoughts about the event. Individuals with PTSD may also exhibit avoidance behaviors and experience significant disruptions in their daily lives. Support from mental health professionals trained in trauma therapy, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Exposure Therapy, is crucial for managing PTSD symptoms and facilitating healing.
